I have a 72 duster with a recently rebuilt 225. I have an mp cam, shaved head, oversized valves, mp header and a super six. I'm looking to up grade to either a 4bbl setup or I've seen a dual webber setup on proline fuel's web page. Does anyone have any experiences or played around at all with a dual webber setup, and which setup is better to go with? I like the dual carb setup, but is the 4bbl the way to go?

IMO, for a street motor an Offy 4bbl intake and a 390 Holley are really tough to beat. The Proline setup looks real cool, and I've heard a lot of claims made about it, baut have never heard from anyone actually using one. A new Offy and 390 can be had for around $500, the Proline setup is on the other side of $800. :shock:

I have a PROLINE WEBER setup on my 71 dodge 1/2 ton pickup with a 4 spd od and 3.91 gears and it is a really great setup and the dual carbs are easy to setup and with a Clifford shorty exauast and single 2 1/4 exaust and a MSD 6AL on a otherwise stock 82 hydraulic motor and it runs great but I think i need a little stouter cam as the stock hyd. cam is pretty weak in my opinion(I had this same setup on a 67 motor that was in my truck and it was stronger by a good margin) .I still use my truck as a truck and get decent milage for a 3800 pound vehicle- 15 mpg on the hiway and a little less around town.
I do plan on a hyper-pac for my 60 valiant though with a 450 holley but I cant say how that will work as this will be my first internally beefed slant motor so Im sure Ill have to learn alot.
As for the weber setup and proline ,Chris was very helpful and Im sure he could tune it for your application plus it does have and awsome wow factor when you pop the hood at the local cruise ins,also it very reliable. I hope this helps.

I dont know much about mopars, yet. I am quite knowledgable in ACVW (air cooled VWs) and I know that the most popular performance carbs are the Webers. Dellortos were extremely popular but are not made anymore. Webers provide great performance, but can be difficult to keep in tune depending on the type of carb you get, some are more particular than others. I have friends that have been into the american muscle scene longer than i have and have quite a bit of success with the Holley products. My buddy has a Holley 4-barrel on his biscane and it runs great.

If it were my engine I would choose the Holley over the Weber.

If you have the money to spend, I'd go with the Webers. Holley's are great for when you need parts from a regular autoparts store, but Webers are the highest quality carbs I've ever seen. When you take a Weber apart is goes back together so easily because of how precise the machining is on it.

Webers are really easy to tune, and stay tuned once you get them in tune. You can change the idle jets in 30seconds from the outside of the carb, and change the main jets in 10 minutes. Everything is easy to set. I know that the Proline dual Weber set-up will be jetted for your application.

I run a Weber 32/36 DGEV on a Clifford intake, and it is great. If I was in the mood to change carb'd intakes, I'd get the dual Weber from Prolinefuel. Plus it looks really cool.

Just my opinion.

Like i said I am no expert. Also the Webers that he is referring to are completely different from any model I have ever seen. So i have learned something new today Webers are sweet no matter what you put them on.

Also i have a question, who sells the Webers for our applications?

I hope I didn't come across as negative, or as a know-it-all, because I wasn't trying to come across as an expert. My experience has been with only one Weber carb on just my car (Weber 32/36 DGEV downdraught). Just opinion. Both Holley carbs and Weber carbs have been used sucessfully on the slant, so I guess it depends on what you are familiar/comfortable with...and what the budget says.

Chris at Prolinefuel.com sells them pre-jetted for the slant, but Clifford also sells them with a baseline jetting (not good for the slant).

There are also other distributors liek Redline Weber, etc...but I'd go with prolinefuel, since so many people have been satisfied with his parts and service.

Probably the wrong place for this...but my dealings with chris at prolinefuel have been nothing short of excellent. He is very responsive, timely, and overall a great person to deal with. I would go so far as to say my dealings with him have been the best of any internet transaction i have ever had. :)

No experience with the webers though :(

I just ordered a dual intake with Weber carbs from Chris last week. This setup will be going on my stock '78 Volare's 225. Chris has been very helpful, I'll post here again when I get the setup installed.
