I'm interested, if anyone has anykind of knowledge, what kind of air / fuel ratio you have at idle and at cruise. and also how your engine acts with those numbers. Joug |

Joug, I recently have been monitoring my high performance Slant with an O2 sensor. I have a long duration cam, so my idle is smoothest and take-off is easiest with a rich mixture - like 0.8-0.95V on the O2 sensor. The mileage on the hwy is best with a lean mix - about 0.2V on the sensor. I have been tuning WOT (wide open throttle) at around 0.85-1V. Hope this helps, Lou |

Thans Lou That is somenthing i'm hopeing. But if I adjust carb richer, the air fuel ratio starts to wander very much. From 0.05V- 0.9V. I really mean 0.05 v. My cruise mixture is now Steady , but it is steady only when it is too lean ( now about 0.07V). Of course, with carb, it's allways wandering little , but that is too much. But when accelerating it is ok ( 0.8-0.95V). IDle is quite similar than yours Lou. I still would like to know, how much that very much advanced timing chain does for that mixture and MPG's. It's stock engine. I explained that before in other topic, But here again: I changed timing chain and sprockets and checked cam degree. Centerlines are I/E 101/117 degrees. (federal mogul timing set) I also found at Slantsix.com that somebody else has degreed his similar set and he also found same centerline. (half tooth off). Where that stock cam should be set? 106/112 ??? Joug |
