I've got some smoke coming out of the breather cap. I took off my metal PCV valve and cleaned it out; it appears to be working properly. It is connected to a port on the back of the carb (Holley 2300) that sees vacuum at idle. I measured it to be about 8 inHg at idle. Is this enough? The manifold itself sees about 15 inHg at idle.

If you don't see full manifold vacuum where the PCV hose is connected, it's connected to the wrong place or you've got a vacuum leak.
