I just recently purchased a 1970 Plymouth Duster that belong to Buddy Borg. The car was the said to be the world record holder for its class in 1988. Does any know anything about this car? I would like to keep its history alive.

I did a little digging on that car a few months ago. IIRC, it held an IHRA or AHRA record for a while. If you look back in this forum the thread should still be there.

Congrats, it seemed to be a decent race car. :D

I purchased this car about 3 yrs ago. I still run it some on tnt nights and is still very consistent and a screamer. Im not sure what it compares too on other 170 ci slant six cars today but fastest time is usually in the 9.60s 1/8th mile but has some left in it with different tire size and carb, im guessing.

I don't think they have any slant six races around Arkansas , I only knew of one other person who had one and he a 225 NA , was running 7.90s in 1/8th back in the 90s. All he has left is intake.

We have a couple members in AR. Bill Dedman is in Conway. Not sure what part Frank Brent is in, but he is an AR guy too.

Team Green is in Carthage, MO

Closest Slant race to you is probably Mo-Kan in April.

Sorry for all the questions I have never been to an all slant 6 race! Are they broken up into classes (engine size, NA, power adders)?

No, It is just dial-in bracket racing. Everyone runs together. Only one class.

I remember that car. :) I used to watch it race in Temple way back when I was a teenager in the 1980s. There weren't many Mopars at the track back then and only two of them were slant sixes.

I saw it for sale on craigslist about a year ago. Wish I had bought it but was short on funds at the time...as usual. :roll:
