In looking at my '62 FSM, it shows an 'anti-rattle' spring that connects onto the heat riser flapper shaft. It is a short coil spring (not a sprial spring like the thermal spring behind the weight). The FSM shows it going on the back side where the shaft sticks out towards the the firewall. Does anyone have one of these on their cars and can take a pix showing how it was physically arranged or can describe this? I suspect it connects on the rear groove in the shaft and puts some drag on the shaft movement.
