I am installing the Mopar P4529343 cam kit in my engine. This is the .528 lift cam. I can't find the recommended valve lash anywhere. Does any one have this info?
Thanks

I don't know the exact lash but my mechanic is going to adjust mine this tuesday(I have the same cam in my car and it's just been broken in enough for a lash check) so I can ask him.

:D According to my old MP catalog it is .028" intake and .032" exhaust.

I just put that same cam in Slantzilla.

Thanks, Dennis, I'll start with that. I am going to put your Racer Brown cam in the turbo motor this weekend, and plot the lift/dur curves. Took some old Crane valve springs to the machine shop yesterday. He said the pressures were fine for that cam. Should get a check out on Monday.
Boy this is getting crazy, building two motors, an 8 3/4 chunk, and a trans, all at the same time. Good thing I am unemployed, and have some extra time. Now if the money holds out. :)

I have it. Gathering parts for next winters project, next years race car. Not ready to talk about it yet, still very iffy. Need to get parts for the prices i'm will to pay. But if it comes into being, It will be really different, and Quick. I will give a clue. I saw a hot wheels model of the car, and hope to duplicate it. That is enough said.

Charlie,
We have this cam running in my sons Dart, with over 5,000 miles on it. As Dennis said some of the material says .028 / .032 ,which sounds like a lot to me. However when I went to install ours, My Mopar engine manual say to use .016 / .020. This is the 1989 Engine manual, p.29. When we installed ours I think, I split the difference and went with .020 / .028.

It ran good but seemed to be run out of pull above 5000-5200 RPM. We pulled the valve cover and ran the valves again last week and set them at .016 / .024. ( They were all loose on the clearances) This really made a difference on the top end. Engine now pulls good through 5800 RPM. I still need to work on some of the items that Lou recommended, but just wanted to give our 2 cents worth.

Rick

Charlie, I think you are gonna like this cam. I went 14:24@94 tonight. It seemed to like being shifted at 5600, but I still have a 390 Holley on it.

Charlie-I went 3 rounds in No-Box. I had a guy buried and dumped at the stripe. Let him back by me by .002. :(

2nd round I drilled the track champ in his 9 second Nova. .509 and .03 off on the brakes to his .567 and dead on. :D

Got a bye in the first round when the back motor dragster I was paired with wouldn't start.

Rick-your carb is going on next.

Good results for just sticking the engine in, way to go Dennis!
Boy, I just hate it when I toss-out the anchor at the finish line and the other guy gets by....that's almost worse then going red. (almost)
