| Post subject: | choke pulloff question |
I just ordered the #1234 electric choke kit for my 1980 Holley 1945. So the choke pulloff stays intact? I guess I don't understand how the pulloff and choke interact. I do know the pulloff is vacuum driven and the stock choke is driven by heat. Anyone care to explain? TIA |

The choke pulloff opens the choke flapper about 1/2 way when the engine starts to keep from running to rich the choke thermostats job is to close the choke when the engine is cold and as it warms up it slowly opens it |

So they tug against each other until the choke is fully open? |

The way the linkage is designed for the choke pull off it can only open the choke about half way. The choke thermostat also sets the fast idle cam to increase the idle speed until it warms up. Brian |
