Finally got together with my friend who has a CNC mill and we dished the piston tops on some of the last TWR 2.2 forgings. These will be used in my latest quanch motor. Everything went well, had 8 pistons in case we needed a set-up part or two, we did not loose any of them! The machine we used was so nice and hit all the print specs on the first cut! Once the mill was set-up it took 30 minutes to do all 8 pistons! Now all I have to do is a tad of valve notching and re-balance these units and I'm ready to assemble this new mill. that's good, how much do the pistons weigh now ? Any chance on using Neon pistons or PT Cruiser 2.4 turbo pistons ? I believe the bore is 3.444". There appears to be a lot more development on the Neon/PT motors than the 2.2/2.5L these days. |
