Hi I'm looking for the correct fender nameplates for a 62 Valiant V200. They are rectangular with the name Valiant inscribed, I believe. The problem I have is that I am not sure of the color (yes, I'm color blind). When looking at pictures (e.g. valiant sales brochure) it seems to me "valiant" (and the sides of the rectangle) are chrome but the background of "valiant" is black. When I look at some used nameplates for sale, it seems to me there is nothing black about them (except rust). It all seems chrome to me. It's a small thing, I know, but if someone knows about this, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks Maurice |

Chromed potmetal (zinc die-cast). Black field surrounding letters. Paint wears off after half a century. |

Thanks Dan, I thought of that but wasn't at all sure. I guess it's the same thing that happens with that the V-sign with the blue and red paint peeling off. |
