Hey Gang, this thing runs perfect but has an exhaust redirect between the intake and exhaust manifold. it works, but on the back side of the rod (facing the driver) the hole has widened and blows exhaust out badly causing some serious fume inhalation. Any fixes??? |

That is the "manifold heat control valve". Check with the dealer. They used to have a repair kit available, don't know if is still a available part. If not Check e-bay, they show up there, once in a while. |

There are some small bronze bushings in the repair kit, these press-in, between the manifold casting and the heat valve shaft. It is common to find the bushing missing and it is an easy fix to push another one into place to stop the leak. (I use a punch to stake the new bushing into place so it will not rattle-out) Take a close look to see if that is the problem, I have some used bushings if you need one. DD |
