The tailgate on my D150 is sprung. A heavy load bent the tailgate. I got a new tailgate. Other than cutting off the old tailgate is there a trick to removing these? The wires to the latches are jammed. The tailgate is bowed about 2 inches at the bottom.

inside box of gate are a slot with a metal tab sticking flush or a bit out ...one each side ....moving them will unlatch gate
