Before ordering replacement cat whiskers for my 63 Valiant, 2-dr sedan, I wanted to ask if any special tools were involved and can any of you provide some hints on a trouble-free install? All new to me. Thank you.

Cat whiskers = window beltline weathstrip, window felt, window scrapers, etc... Many names for the same part. This is the fuzzy black weather strip that goes between the glass and the sides of the opening in the top of the door that the glass slides up and down in.

I managed to remove the remaining pieces of the existing "whiskers" via a small screwdriver used as a mini pry bar. The whiskers were cracked and brittle for the most part. The metal track they were attached to was pretty well rusted throughout. Remaining in the door at this point are small clips used to hold the whiskers in place. Hopefully new clips will be included with the new whiskers since the old ones were in sad shape. I didn't remove the whiskers from the inner side of the window yet. They actually looked in pretty good shape.
