I am planning ahead to when I get to start the bodywork on my brother's Duster. We are using a pair of 1968 Dart fenders from a real 68 Dart GTS. The problem is that the fenders have factory tape stripes on them.

Can anyone suggest a good method for removing the factory tape stripes?

Thanks!

Heat gun will soften them up. Propane torch will work too, just don't stay in one spot too long.

Thanks!

What about those 3M decal remover wheels? The fenders are going to be repainted after the stripes are removed.

I've had good luck with those, but the last time I used one it was to remove factory stripes that were about seven years old. Can't say if (much) older stripes will be easier or harder; give it a try.

Thanks! I'll give them a go. As much fun as it is to play with fire, it isn't my tool of first resort.
