Yes, I was discussing with my buddy who welded those up, we took a few iterations to get it right (lots of cuts, recuts, etc, etc.) , but I suggested to him we might at least scan them into a computer, make CAD's or something to save the plans. They key was a really tight, very well done SS Y that Vibrant Performance makes, made for great clearance on all sides. http://s785.photobucket.com/user/67dart ... rt=3&o=139 Had to cut one inlet on the Y short to make it work, get the angle right.

Yes, mine is a '67 with automatic, I'm not sure if the linkage for a manual would work, but it has plenty of clearance for automatic.

You can see the forward down pipe is nearly perfect, the rear one has a slight kink, was reworked at least a couple times, but it was like 2 am and we were getting tired of cutting and measuring at that point. I wanted to get it to the coater and back before my engine was ready. That rear pipe could be tweaked a bit. Also, there needn't be as many sections welded together, but we just started from the manifold flanges, using mandrel bends cutting and fitting pieces and worked our way back. If we were to do again, we could probably use single sections of SS pipe and add the bends, have welds only at the flanges and where the pipes meet the Y. Now that it's made, it would be much easier to duplicate it. Still, it looks great I think; should flow even better without those angled turns it used to have.

I actually didn't use any piston squirters, I was just looking into them as possible off the shelf items for oiling the cam/oil pump gears. Many of those piston squirters look like they'd be easy to convert for that purpose, i.e. drill a delivery hole through into the oil galley plus a threaded hole to lock it down, bend the delivery tube to aim at the gears. The closest/best one I thought I might use was a Ducati oiler, as it is small and has a tube that looks long enough and fairly certain I could have bent it without kinking it.

I'm told that DD's latest incarnation of an oilier is a tube from the main oil chamber that is brazed into the block, rather than a fitting and using the formerly unused chamber etc. It runs along the oil pump shaft housing and to the gears. I haven't seen one, only heard tell of them.

No, it comes from inside the oil pump itself and the tube is brazed to the side of the oil pump body ending up right behind the gear.

BTW, that Aervoe red goes on really nicely. It takes a few coats, but it really sprays well and is super wet, no overspray issues or anything. I spray my oil pan with the Rustoleum rust preventer black, and the red covers it in two or three light coats.

As you might have noticed the valve cover doesn't perfectly color match, it's powder coated, and it was the only red the guy had, but it's close enough.

Those Webers look sweet,very nice looking slant,I'm a header fan myself but your pipe looks very nice and will no doubt stay that way with the ceramic coating...I'm sure it will run just as good as it looks...I like your engine stand...I have one the same and I'm in Australia...the joys of a global economy I guess! But they are a good stand,Mine has served me very well....happy cruising
