Building V8s and getting are the parts I need is no problem. This /6 has some twists. Did all /6 use the 904 or was there a 727 for the /6?

Yes, some slants did use a 727 but try finding one.

If you get the V8 A904 from a 318 (A998) or 360 (A999) you can swap the stronger planetaries and clutches into the 6 cylinder case and have a plenty strong 904.

That's what I am planning to do. I have mostly 904's in my race cars. Going to give the /6 a try.

Cool. If this is for the V/SA car you probably won't even want more clutch plates just from a parasitic drag perspective, but having them might reduce maintenance enough to be worthwhile.
