Post subject:  Slant exhaust

Hello,
I have done a search on the Internet looking for a exhaust system with no results, for the 225 slant, from the manifold back.
would like to replace the entire system .does anyone know if a complete system is still currently available?
Is a universal kit the only low cost way to go?
Thanks

If you get a reputable muffler shop, it'll likely cost you at least the same amount as buying that custom manufactured one. At least in the SF Bay area that is...

I would make a run down to the locally owned muffler shop and get an estimate. My shop in Boise custom bent a single exhaust from the manifold back for my '61 D100 for $200, parts and labor.

Is it stainless or almuinized steel? Stainless that is a great price. So so on alumlized steel. But does it include a muffler?

The page with product information says it is aluminized steel with a muffler. I think that is an OK price for everything. It includes all hangers and hardware. There is a note that HI-PO systems are available. I would assume this means they will bend it with larger pipe. Although it has been my experience that making the end section much bigger creates quite a drone at highway speeds.

I suspect this is the most straight forward, reasonably priced properly fitting (nothing is perfect) system made today. That said, check with your exhaust shops. This work is very hard if you do not have a lift.

Aluminized steel. It included a muffler - they quoted the same on a nice quiet one or a glass pack. I went with the glass pack.
