I went to the track today made a couple passes as I watched my oil pressure guage and when I come out of the hole my oil pressure would drop from about 40 lbs down to 5 or so as it droped lower I heard a ticking I drove her home with 20 to 40 lbs of pressure all the way a good hour drive and no ticking A lifter? Valve ajustmet .I just did!! I'm OPen |

When you launch hard, the oil sloshes in the pan and the pickup tube can't pick up oil. If you have hydraulic lifters, that's probably what you heard. Usually this is not a problem with a street car if your oil level is full. High perfomance engines use baffles in the pan to prevent oil sloshing. |

Change the oil and filter. GOOD filter, see oil filter study. Maybe nothing, probably something. What's the history? What hind of ET's are we talking about? |

The windage tray won't help the oil pickup problem. The next most likely "noise maker" when oil pressure drops is usually rod bearings.
