At the transmission remove the hold down bolt, remove the speedometer drive. Look at the gear on the speedometer drive should have 2 small numbers in a little circle. Put the speedometer drive back in transmission with the numbers that are in the same range as the drive gear facing the small raised mark on the tail-shaft housing, put the hold down clamp back on and the bolt in place. You may get a little dribble from the cable housing, nothing serious.

Jack the car up from the rear when you work it. I don't recall more then residue coming out when I did mine doing this. |

I drained the fluid jacked the truck up from the back one wheel on the ground. Took the Speedo cable and drive out. Found the 2 numbers in circles on the drive. Put it back in with the notch between the two numbers. Moved the drive about 1/4 of a inch to get the drive in position to lock down. Locked down reattached the cable. Poured the fluid in. No dice. |
