Having missed Cedar Falls last week, turned out the fan belt was just loose but I couldn't see trouble shooting at 4:30 in the morning in the driveway of my townhouse. So today I took the Valiant to Rock Falls Raceway only about 20 minutes from the garage where I keep the car in Eau Claire, WI. It was a beautiful fall day and the last meet of the year so everybody showed up. I got to make 3 runs from 14.79-14.95 without making any staging errors. The car was slower than expected considering 900' air density, there was a stiff headwind all day which might have made a difference, the 60' and 330' times where what I usually see on a 14.60 run. This fall the owner is going to redo the first 330' in concrete which should make this an excellent place to race. Somebody is betting that drag racing has a future! I also found out my helmet is only good through 1/1/17 that might be telling me that I am getting too old for this.
