I traded a Honda xl125s for the truck. Put some ethanol free gas in it. Cranked it up and drove it about 10 miles. My son drove it off and it would not stay running for him to bring it home. I realize that I need to eliminate the lean burn system. I would like to put a good solid carburetor on it without a lot of linkage issues. Would this be an option?

I would like to get one of the wagon wheel carbs I read about here. I am looking for fuel economy and daily drive ability. Just a solid run the dog or boat to the river type thing. Seeking advice from the pros. If I knew what years of 225's to look for I could check in some of the old junkyards around. Thanks David

For carbs, I recommend THIS ONE.

The "wagon wheel" carbs are called the Holley Economaster line of carburetors. They are getting pretty scare but turn up from time to time on eBay.

That carb would work to.

On the passenger mirror- do you see the three screws on the back of the mirror head around the mount? Tighten one of them about 1/4 turn and see if the head doesn't firm up.

Thanks, I bought the carb with six month assurant protection for 34.00. Ordering a carb kit 902-981 Carter fits Holley, choke pull off etc. from Rockauto. Will my existing choke thermostat work with this carb? RA listed this thermostat for the 74 model. WALKER PRODUCTS 1021022. They do not have it but I have one in the cart to fit my truck. It is a TOMCO, INC. 7324. I wonder if the difference is on the engine side and the tomco can be made to work? I will check the mirror advice.

The exiting choke thermostat should attach to that carb the same way. Just make sure to keep the electric assist wire hooked up to the thermostat.
