I am still looking for a transmission park lock cable for my 64 valiant slant 6 pushbutton auto. Anyone out there have one kicking around? |

I didn't have much luck finding a good one, either. If you've got one with a melted jacket, my buddy ended up repairing the one off the race car with a whole bunch of oversized heat shrink tubing and patience. |

Unfortunately mine is beyond repair. Had a fight with a cutting torch and lost ! (wasn't me but the previous owner that was replacing floor pans) |

If you can't find any try these guys. They can custom build stuff. The cost is relatively reasonable and product is good. |

There's also Imperial Services. I've never ordered anything from them so can't vouch for quality or delivery, but they want $209 for a reproduction A-body park cable. |

Imperial Services: Nice stuff, very nice, but last I knew the odds were you'll grow too old to drive a car by the time your order is filled. Perhaps they've addressed that shortcoming. This outfit might be able to repro the cables, given a sample (however battered). The dollar exchange rate is good right now. |

The urgency for a cable is over.....cause I temporarily repaired mine. The problem was the cable had come off the hanger bracket, and resting on the exhaust pipe burning a hole in it allowing transmission fluid to leak out. I took a 12" piece of 1/4" id fuel injection hose, cut a slit down one side and slid it over the cable with lots of rtv silicone. 7 hose clamps over the length of the hose and problem solved. (although a little mickey mouse !) |
