I spoke with Harold Johnson at spitfire yesterday and he said it would be about another month for the slant headers but he was excited about getting them out and in use. He also told me that they would have 1-1/2 inch primarys with the rear 3 cylinders coming forward and turning down infront of the starter and the front three cylinders going back and turning down behind the motor mount(a tube version of Dutra-Duals if you will) and slso have the option of being a single colector or dual collectors.
As soon as he gets a set ready im ordering(still under 200$ shipping and all)but he told me that if anyone has any suggestions to feel free to call him at 1 479 474 1551.

The price is very reasonable. What advantage do they have? Do they have thicker flanges ?

I think this is a small company, most of the work is performed by the owner. I have been disappointed at the fit of headers for the \6. The 1/2" thick flange hints at good quality, yet the price seems to be on low side. I hope they're still shipping these when I can afford a set.

I have seen a set of spitfire v-8 headers and they were of excellent quality and the owner of the car said that they fit without the use of profanity.
From talking with Harold Johnson on the phone he is really nice guy and has his stuff together and i suspect we will get a great new product for the slant from him.
Just for the record I would really like a set of Dutra-Duals but ill have to wait alittle while on that but in my opinion they are best exaust for a slant.

If Harold said 1 month , figure on at least 3 monthes. The guy is slower than a slant 6 with 3 plug wires pulled. I know a guy who waited 4 monthes on his v-8 headers, and a another 6. But in his defense they are cheap and fit O K if you got the time. Hey whats wrong with the clifford headers ?? i just ordered a pair.

Oh and a word to the wise, before you bolt on your clifford headers check for flange straightness. Mine were warped enough between #1 and #2 that it leaked, and they told me I had to cut the bar above that connected all the ports together. That stoped the leak but still, something that shouldn't have got passed their manufacturing process.

From what I hear I'm willing to wait for Harold's headers. These sound like to good product. The thick flanges are important to the \6 in my experience.
