| Post subject: | The other Holleys... |
I've seen one of those on the 'late' model Holleys like the 79-85 'big' Holley two barrels, there's gotta be one and a part number... good luck on the search, -D.Idiot |

What problem are you trying to solve, by retrofitting such a solenoid? |

I already contacted Holley and they said they had nothing for that carb. I will probably just go down and look through the books at a local auto shop and pick out something I can use. Then build a custom bracket for it. ( I can do OK without it... but on occasion the car diesels....... already played with the carb on a smog machine to richen up the idle ) Just thought it would be nice to install a idle cut off solenoid to prevent ANY tendency to diesel ..... the solenoid totally closes the throttle plates when the ignition is turned off... thus preventing ANY air into the carb and hence ...NO diesel) To my knowledge, this was used in the seventies as a cheap solution to the diesel problem in carb's as emissions standards got tighter and before they went to EFI. |
