So far, the majority of the gear failures I've heard about happened to be with the 528 Mopar cam. Anyone lose one with any other cam? |

If it is cam related, maybe there's a batch of cores with a out of spec gear. Most cam companies don't hobb the gear on the cam themselves so they must be relying on a core supplier, is it Mopar? Where ever the cams came from that were involed in gear failures, are there cam core marking or casting codes that can ID a specific batch? Cecil |

Our failure was indeed the 528 cam (at 500 miles) But the cam that I put back in was an identical 528 purchased at the same time and place as the first one. The difference? The Hardened gear ! We now have 5500 miles on with no problems. Rick |
