They changed spline count from 68 onward on the A904 input shaft from 18 spline to 27 spline, is that correct? I can't seem to find anyone who sells the older '67 torque converter. Brian |

I'll let you know, I'm just looking for stock. I was confused as some of the autopart sites say they fit a '67, but I'm pretty sure they're 27 spline. B |

I thought that 66 was the last year for the small spline/input converter? Probably I am remembering incorrectly. Anyway, I both late (big hub, big spline) and early (small hub, small spline) stock converters and can let one or more go. Again, I can't remember if there were small hub, big spline versions for a year or two... Lou |

For a stock or near stock application, Dacco converters has several units. http://www.daccoinc.com/catalogs Page 175 Their part number is 403 For a 67 older engine and 68 newer trans part number 762S For a 68 newer engine and trans part number 762 For a 68 newer engine and 67 older trans part number 762X I think if you call them, it is possible to special order a limited higher stall speed over stock. |

That's for V8s. For \6s the last year for it was '67.Quote: I can't remember if there were small hub, big spline versions for a year or two
Fortunately not -- it's a clean before/after break: small hub and spline til '67, then big hub and spline starting '68.

I found a torque converter that is supposedly "new in the box"; it's an aftermarket unit. It looks unused, still has stickers from manufacturer on it. I noticed when I shake the unit I hear stuff clunking around in there. Is that normal or should I not hear that? I can provide a video if that helps. Brian |

Its an A904 converter for a '67 dart, so 18 spline, non-lockup. b |
