Hey guys what u joint do I need for the drive shaft that mates to an 8 3/4 rear out of a duster the car this is in is a 1967 dodge dart with stock 225 and 904 |

Chrysler basically used 2 different size U-joints in those years... "small" & "large". The Slant Six cars mostly used the "small" 7260 version that measures roughly 2 3/8 inches across the caps. Heavy duty "large" 7290 U-joint measures 2 5/8". You will need to measure the rear end yoke size & drive shaft to be sure about what U-joints to order. As a side note, there are special "problem solver" U-joints available that mix the 7260 with the 7290 size. These "un-even cross" U-joints can come-in handy when doing rear end, drive shaft or transmission swaps. |
