I have yet to purchase my /6 car, but I am already thinking ahead...
I am interested in doing the whole fuel injected/turbo route. Based on this, I was thinking about welding up a tubular intake, with a plenum. Doc, can you give us some of your knowledge of history to tell me about the runner diameter, lengths, and other dimensions in the Hyperpak? How would you design a manifold, if you were doing it from scratch?

We need a little more information like what engine size (bore x stroke) and intended RPM operating range.

Truth is that the factory did a pretty good job "tuning" the original H-Pak so that is why I stuck close to that design when I reproduced a SL6 intake.

In general, a 1 1/4 inch port "cross-section" with 14 to 18 inches of runner length and 500 to 800 cc of plenum is "in the ballpark" for the Slant.
Larger plentum and longer runners would be the way to go with an EFI version.

Using a Turbo, I won't need to rev it to the moon. Based on some of your other writings, 4000 rpm is a reasonable red line. ( Cam oiling?) 225 CID, stock bore and stroke. I would want power starting around 2000 or so RPM.

I am looking at Megasquirt for the fuel injection, as it fits my interests of low cost, diy, and very adaptable.

Sounds like a fun project. The MegaSquirt is definitely a good way to go for a low/mid buck buildup.

4000 RPM is quite low, and 5000 is totally fine on a stock Slant. If you want a 4000 RPM redline, you will want runners that are 20-25" long, so you'd have to fold the manifold over on itself.

There is a formula for runner length vs. RPM in the archives somewhere - try a search. I'm not sure this formula applies to forced-induction motors, though.

I am beginning to design and gather parts for turbo additions to my Slant cars (one currently MegaSquirted, two to go).

Will the Megasquirt work with the Mopar Orange box Electronic ignition, or do you need something like an MSD or the GM HEI?

In theory, MS will work with any ignition system, and people have used it on anything from points to a bunch of factory electronic igns. If you go to their website, there is stuff under FAQ that describes small mods needed for different ignition types.
