Hi guys,

What does the transmission end of a stock 1964 dart speedo cable look like?

I know what the interior end that threads onto the dash looks like.

Thanks for any help/resources that you can provide.

Pics of these parts are online, and match what the part looks like.

Here's one example I found on Rockauto:

PIONEER CA3027

Screw on end that is about 3/4" diameter, with knurled surface. Smaller than later A body "bug nut" style.

I may have a spare cable...

Lou, I think that is wrong. The 64 cable screws onto the speedo head, and the trans end is almost like a plug, and the gear is affixed to that with a funky looking "C" clip. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Looks like this: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/281117089 ... -l1000.jpg

Hmmm. I wonder if those rockauto pieces somehow adapt to that funky looking plug adapter..?

No. Bring them up, and look at the applications. They are all wrong.
The cable application is:
1960 (I think) to 1965. Screw on the speedo head, and the "Plug" type end.

1966 and 1967. Screw on speedo head (same as 65 down) and screw on the trans, This is the cable needed when putting a 66 up trans into a 65 down car
.
Then 1968 up to much later. Clips on speedo head, and screws on the trans (same as the 66-67)
