Would anybody happen to know what the nominal cylinder wall thickness is on a 225? |

Have you read the block article by Doug Dutra? http://www.slantsix.org/articles/dutra- ... blocks.htm |

You bet. I'll add that some have found the early blocks to have thicker cylinder walls, but I don't have any direct experience there. None of my engine failures had anything to do with block problems, but I've never gone for large overbores either. |

Dutra's article pretty much tells me that the earlier 170 RB is the way to go. I have a great 225 setting here, but I might wind up prowling wrecking yards from here to Walla Walla looking for this 170 engine. I really appreciate your input. I'm finding out after 50+ years of playing with /6's, that I don't know nearly as much as I thought I did. |
