Post subject:  Manifold machining issues

So, I got a set of manifolds sandblasted and ready to get resurfaced and I brought 'em to the machine shop and the guy said the exhaust was unusable. We put the port face down on a straight edge and it was flat, however he was concerned about the angle between the port face and the flange where the two manifolds mate. He held a T-square up to it and said the angle wasnt 90 degrees so it wasnt worth it to use the manifold. He said the two would separate. Wondering if anyone has gotten that response before and if so is it legit? Should I bring them to someone else for a second opinion or just start over with a new set?? Thanks.

Personally, I would assemble the manifolds and mount them on the engine. torque everything to specs and then take the whole manifold assembly to the machine shop for surfacing.
