| Post subject: | bell housing removal |
Trying to remove the bell housing off of my 1970 slant six out of my d100 truck; I have all visible bolts removed, starter, tin pan, etc but it is stuck fast. Read somewhere that perhaps some slant 6 trucks had an extra couple of bolts on the inside which I am suspecting I have. if this is the case how the heck do I get at them? Do I have to remove the clutch and pressure plates to make room to get up inside the top of the bell housing? |

If it's the 11" clutch low mount starter bell, then yes you have 3 bolts that can only be accessed after removing the pressure plate, disc, and flywheel.... |

Pulled the clutch and flywheel and I indeed have the 3 extra bolts inside. Glad I didn't get too carried away with the dead blow! |

Those 3 bolts are outside the bell on that A904 and high mount starter manual transmission bells... |
