Hi all, Im down in New Zealand, currently rebuilding a 225 for my 1969 Valiant Pacer (Australian). Engine currently in machine shop, its getting oversize valves, P&P head, a Hughes Cam and compression up to 9.6:1. AussieSpeed long runner manifold with 350 Holley and Pacemaker headers My rocker arm ends are worn through the hardening on about half of them. Does anyone make new rocker arms? Pentastar in Australia do a roller rocker set up but its about $1200 usd. Any info would be appreciated. I want to buy out right, not ship mine for recon. Thanks |

I have a 64 head that is complete that I would get rid of the parts if needed. It was just rebuilt before a bearing went bad. |

I am not aware of new stock-type rockers available in US or Aus. I would try to find a good used set. It is unusual for the stockers to wear out, even in a hi perf engine. I would look for oiling problems too (cam bearing spun, rocker shaft mis-oriented...). You used to be able to get rebuilt stockers and roller rockers from Rocker Arm Specialists, but I think they changed names. It looks like they are now at http://www.rockerarms.com/. I just looked at their roller rocker pics and you should be aware that in the past the shaft may not have been thick enough to prevent warping and binding when torquing down, and they may not oil well enough for sustained street use. I am not sure anyone has tested the ones they are selling now. All the best, Lou |

T&D makes roller rockers. Last time I priced them they were around $800. Other than that extra 1/8 hp, not really worth the hassle. They look marvelous, but you have to take your valve cover off to show the bling. I have RAS and T&D roller rockers. Had oiling issues with the RAS. They also turned the rocker shaft down instead of reaming the rocker bushings to fit. If OEM torque specs are used, the rockers will bind on the shaft. The tower clamps that come with them are good, so I torque them around 12 ft-lb. In order to get adequate lubrication, I had to modify the oil passages in the shaft to get them to oil the roller tips. Pay close attention to where the rollers address the valve stems. Geometry may need further work. Been pounding on these rockers for four or five years. No issues. Lift has been upward of 0.540 with one of my cams. Adjusting lash needs to be done with the engine shut down. Working with Allen head adjusters with the engine running is a bit more difficult. No such issue with the T&D's, They use a different push rod type though. Double ball end, no cup. Not a big deal if you're going with custom length push-rods, but another engineering opportunity. x2 on the good used set. If it's a street car, I'd save the money for rollers and put it somewhere else. CJ |

RAS used to sell rebuilt stock rockers. I have a set, and they work very well. I run them with a .557 gross lift cam. I have tried RAS 1.6 rollers and went no faster. |
