Hi guys, I am looking to setup a new block for my ruster engine. I need a new block due to 3 cracks at the bottom of 2 cylinders. How much hardblok would be needed for a partial fill? Thanks for your help. Greg |

One bucket will give you a good partial fill. |

Good stuff, guys. What is the best product to buy and how do you clean your block first? Thanks, Lou |

I'm not sure how, but I know Kriner's Racing told us the block had to be very clean for it to work right. Seems like maybe they said an acid cleaning?? ![]() ![]() |

Interesting subject. I was considering filling my Slant. I asume that this must be done before any machining to the block, right? Also, how about a tall fill? I was considering this for my Turbo motor, only leaving water to the head. Drag Alcohol engine only btw. |

You'll need to fill the block first before you do any machine work. |

Do the mains need to be torqued to specs when filling? |

Yes and head or torque plate. Greg |

I see the need of the head, but that will leave the water pump as they only imput for the filler... I'm not sure if filling only through the front of the engine will be good enough. |

Yes Greg, the mains need to be torqued. As for filling through the water pump, you would install and torque the head or torque plate after you fill it through the deck holes to allow even filling front to back. |
