2202857, pretty sure that's a '61-'62 LG (170 cubic inch) engine block. -12 is going to be a mould ID number (so the factory could keep track in case of a mould issue or defect) ; 11-12 could be a date code of November 12, 1961, but no guarantee on that. Take a look over on the other side of the block, on a boss/ridge of metal extending outward from the top right front corner of the block, facing the sky. It's below the front spark plug, just inboard of the cast iron bracket that holds the ignition coil and the alternator's feet. Scrape/clean that off and see what you find for a stamping. |
