By chance does that engine have an adapter plate on the back of it?

Now I know my starters will be in different locations, would that matter? and I also have an A833 4 speed, will that bolt up to this motor with my bellhousing that’s on my truck now?

I take it that the Van had the low mount starter manual transmission (hence no adapter?)? A-833 slant bell should have the high mount starter... Almost everything should bolt to this block, accessory-wise...

The biggest hurdle to overcome is year of the block and crank.. if the engine and crank is from a Pre-68, you're going to need to swap in a 1968-1976 forged crank, or get a custom bushing to mount the 1982 flywheel to the crank properly... or you could try to find a 1963-1967 small crank hub 122 tooth flywheel to use on it.... after that the build up should be easy... I hope you took measurements of how far the piston was in the hole at TDC so you can start estimating how much of a scrape you'll take off the block deck to get your target compression for more "umph"....

The trans/bellhousing determines the starter location, not the engine, itself. Did you get he crank? Measure the dia of the hole in the rear of the crank. That will tell you what you need as far as a flywheel.

For what it's worth, that's a 1965 truck 225.

Yep. If the crank matches you have the following options to make this work:

1) swap in a 1968-1976 forged crank (You can swap the 1965 crank as a core after you order a 1974 Forged Crank kit for the rebuild...and will come with bearings too...)
2) custom bushing to mount the 1982 flywheel to the crank and center it properly
3) 1963-1967 small crank hub 122 tooth flywheel to use on it
