I know this is a slant six site, but this caught my eye as an interesting repower package solution.
Anyone considered it, and or see insurmountable complications?
Got till April 15 to make the downstroke discount.

You did notice the 9 thousand $ entry fee,
Plus: shipping, sales tax, modification to make it mount to a K frame and match to a tranny,,
Bet it would be pushing $14,000 by the time installation was complete and was running and driveable

If I had $14k to spend on a car, I wouldn't. If I was going to spend it on a car, a turbo diesel would be a great way to go. But I would rather build a diesel electric hybrid. Single or two cylinder diesel running a generator with the traction motor being electric. Just like a train.

My biggest issue would be the dry weight. Your going to need some big torsion bars! :D

Here’s another option. Australian turbo Six, a cool 430ish factory HP depending on specific model. There are plenty making very impressive power with factory internals and can be had as junkyard buys that are good running engines in wrecks etc. Even some guys in the turbo ricer scene are running them now in Nissan’s etc. Why Ford never fitted this in the Mustang is a mystery. Sadly all over now Ford Australia has walked away from and Aussie manufacturing. By the way..”Barra” is the code name ford used when developing the engine, short for Barramundi which is an Australian fish species that can grow up to over 5 feet in rare examples and is a popular catch.

The joke over here is what does a bad fisherman and a Chev driver have in common??

The answer is neither can catch a Barra.

I'm not sure, but I think you would need some vehicle electronics, to connect with the engine, also. DEF system?
What about trans? But it would be a neat hotrod.

They run the factory 4 or 6 speed trans. The factory PCM (Power train control module) is reset to enable run engine and trans only . The PCM is visible on the left inner guard, which is the factory location. Pull the loom and computer from the donor car and they can reset it and modify the loom for a few hundred bucks. Engines run DOHC with dual variable control, 4 valves, dual length runner intakes on some models, COP ignition and a real sturdy iron block. Very much a modern hot rod engine. There are 8 second street cars running these things, makes the LS look pretty obsolete, which it is really.
Here’s a retro fit in an older Falcon, far from stock, aftermarket crank but standard block, head and cams. Very much a drag car but sedate cruiser as you can see from the idle. Runs a Haltech and a TH400 for drag duties.

The 2.8 Cummins I linked, as best I can tell, FULLY dressed, with vac pump, alternator, FW, ECU, etc weighs just over 500lbs, or slightly more then a slant, but most weights on the slant I can't determine how fully dressed they are quoting the weight..

Cost as listed SHIPPED,is $9K less the 15% discount if purchased before April 15, $14K? estimate is unrealistic from anything i have seen so far.

So far, it remains very interesting to me, but only if I had another slant car for the repower.
