I redid the whole fuel deliver system in the DeSoto....except the tank.

New in tank , high volume pump Delco $69

3/8 " braided steel EFI supply line 0$
5/16 braided return line 0$

some hardware $20

fuel pressure gauge tap and gauge $70



The fuel lines are off mid 90s Chev trucks .....the pressure side is 5 ft long....return 4ft.
Braided steel from end to end

You need 2 sets. The pressure line is 2 sets joined by a factory fuel filter.

The return needed 2 sets plus a 2 ft repair section from NAPA.

My fuel system has zero rubber from end to end.


It takes about an hour to strip the lines out of a donor truck.

They bolted right up to my pump and throttle body.


I jacked the pressure to 14 lbs and did a tune......
No leaks...big power ....no ping or lag.

14 psi is nothing for a current FI system, it is about double a carburator's fuel
demand. Are you proof testing a carb system?

When it comes to the delivery of flammable material like 'gas' it's your choice. I would buy new stuff,
compatable with current fuel mixes and not trust 20 year old GM bottom basement sourced fuel lines.

Do what you want, that is just me.
I would hate to see my vehicle burn.

My system is GM TBI normally at 12lbs...

GM later used the same stuff for Vortec at 25lbs.

The quality of the lines makes aftermarket stuff look cheap....and it is.

The replacement cost for the lines and fittings from Earls is about $400....out of my range.

Another comparison is that 40 year old seat belts are safer than 2 year old aftermarket safety harnesses. The NHRA proved that one. :wink:
