I have a 74 Duster with a stock 225 single brrl carb. Going to pull the head shortly and re do it as the comp. test / leak down test sez some bad valves. I am looking to do some minor mods such as bigger valves, some pocket port work, valve springs, head milling. To go along with the head mods, I am looking to go to a super 6 ( 2 Brl) or possible a Edelbrock small 4 brl set up. This is going to be a daily driver so I am looking for maybe 20 - 30 extra HP max. Probably stick with the stock cast iron exhaust and slightly bigger exhaust system ( maybe 2"?). I will stay with the stock 2.76 gear in my tinker toy diff. Any suggestions / help would be appreciated. I am a rookie when it comes to slant motors. Don't want to loose any bottom end torque if possible. I live at 5000 ft above sea level and have some pretty good sized hills to contend with. Thanks for any help. John |

Check this thread out.... aggressive Ted had a good post on how to build torque, tho it seems to have disappeared. Still there are a bunch of discussions on different builds. .. . http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23314 |
