Hello All,

I'm looking to get some input here on the slant rebuild I'm doing for my 1964 D-100.

Ideally, I will be beefing the motor up a bit and getting more performance out of it while keeping it street worthy and tame.

Right now I've got the following hang up - I plan to completely rebuild this engine down to having the block and head stripped and fully built from there with a mild build to pull a bit more power out of this motor.

Parts List: (nothing here is set in stone but also these are the parts I'm currently thinking will go onto the build)

Aussie Speed Hurricane Intake Manifold - ( http://www.aussiespeedshop.com/product/ ... -manifold/)

Aussie Speed Dutra Cast Exhaust Manifolds - ( http://www.aussiespeedshop.com/product/ ... 0567-pair/ )

Edlebrock 500 Cfm AVS2 ( https://www.edelbrock.com/avs2-500-cfm- ... -1902.html )

With this intake/exhaust setup id be accounting for the block being bored out a bit and the block and head shaved to add a bit of compression ... but that's where it gets hairy ... I understand the logic here but the specific numbers ... not so much.

I plan to do as much of this as possible but I know with things like cams/clearance/bore size/compression ratio I need to have a full plan in place to make these things work together and not just be a very expensive shiny paperweight.

ANY input would be appreciated here. and if anyone has links to articles about mildly built slants something like what I'm going for here id love to see them.

Check out the engine build matrix that is a sticky post at the top of the engine forum.

Lots of different builds, and you will notice a trend that most street performance builds revolve around work done to the head. It is the bottleneck.

The Aussi speed parts are good, but for what you are doing with your truck, I do not think it is the best choice of money spent for the return on investment. Compression, Head work, and some valves will give you a more complete and well rounded engine... AND then if you decide to go for more RPM's the hard work is all ready done..

Read through the engine build matrix...
