Someone brought it up on 'the other' board, about someone should do a repop of the /6 A-body Z-bar(68-76). I got talking to a friend of mine who has nothing better to do and I have a spare Z-bar for him to pattern out.

My question would be, if he can produce a good repop of this would any one be interested in one(or more) 'z-bars' if they became available?

I'm going to front the $$ for him to make a couple as spares for me, and see what the 'curve' is on this... That should also help him determine what the cost would be on them.

Must admit I have no idea what a Z-bar is. Does that have something to do with manual transmissions?

I'd almost forgotten about this, I'd better go see my buddy...He hasn't started to project yet, but I'll let him know to 'pump them up' I'm with you there Bud, I'm waiting for these to fold over, pop off the tube, etc....I'm also thinking about having him drill another locating hole for a V-8 conversion wish I had an example or a measurement to go off of....

Anyhow I'll let you guys know when we have one out to 'field test'...

Oh wow! I know a Z-bar as the oppisite of a sway bar (and so shaped like a Z instead of a wide U). Not good for handling, but used to make a standard diff put power down to both wheels evenly (when properly adjusted).

Paul, Don't feel bad, for decades I thought it was called a bellcrank, named after the original simple machine used to ring a rather large church bell.My personal theory is that the Z stands for "zap" something that regulary occured during thunderstorms as it was belived if God heard the bell ringing he would not throw a lightening bolt at the church.
