Hoping that someone can help me out.

The county that I live in here in TN requires passing emission testing (MARTA) before issuing license tags, and I have failed the testing twice, the MARTA folks stating that though my catalytic converter and gas cap pass, my hydrocarbon levels are too high. (I put a new exhaust system in before trying to have it tested.)

My 1985 Dodge D100 runs decently, but when I got the vehicle from the previous owner, they had half of the vacuum lines unhooked or missing, and though I have the vacuum schematics, and have attempted to hook everything up the way the schematic shows, it's still "no go" with regards to emissions.

Any suggestions from you good slant sixer's out there? Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!!

I went to Google Images and searched for 1985 Dodge Slant Six emissions hose routings

got to the following page(s)

https://www.autozone.com/repairguides/C ... 528007fbe2

this one says full sized vans, it appears that Autozone has a library of repair manuals on line, register with them and you should be able to get the info for
your truck.

You may also want to do some internet searching for getting older vehicles to pass emissions testing,

for articles like this one

Does your truck still have the Lean Burn system attached?

It might, but I have no idea what that involves.....although I have heard of it while doing my research.

check for two wire pairs coming out of the distributor. That is a pretty good indicator that the car is equipped with a lean burn system.
