What would be the best way to get hold of that to remove it? It's more of a clip than a snap ring, but either way, as you know, it just goes round and round and round when you attempt to extract it lol. Also, am I correct in believing that the t-bar should rotate freely on the top of the distributor shaft in order to enable the weights to move outward? It appears the whole thing is stuck, hence why I am disassembling, cleaning and lubing the distributor. Thanks! |

I use needle nose pliers for that clip. Bent Needle nose might be better. Needle nose vice grips or a set of locking surgical forceps could be the trick. Greg |

That clip can be hard to remove because it is down deep in a small hole... I use a pair of slender needle nose pliers but a hemostat also works. The trick is to simply grab one of the vertical clip ends and aggressively pull the clip off and out, instead of trying to carefully spread and remove it from the post groove. The "grab & pull" process bends the clip but you can straighten and reuse it, once it is out. DD |
