Post subject:  My '72 Duster

Hello. Well I just joined a week ago i believe. Great site btw.

Okay, I bought my Duster about 3 years ago from California. It is pretty much a clean car and it had a slant 6 in it. When I bought it my plans were to throw out the /6 and put my 340 in it. but i started to drive the car with the /6 and have just love the little engine.

So i started looking around for performance stuff for the engine. I found Mopar performance had a book of the 4 and 6 cylinders. I have been read the book and thought what a cool idea to build up an engine. So the 340 is still sitting waiting for a car.

Now the Duster is now my project. I just got done redoing the interior of the car. I bought Centerline rims for the car. The engine in the car is pulled and sitting. I bought another /6 from a moparhead in milwaukee for $50 with tranny. I bought a ported head off ebay. I bought oversized valves in the head. I bought a purple cam from Mopar. Also bought Mopar's intake and headers. I bought a Weber carb from prolinefuel with adapters. I bought the electronic ignition from mopar. Valve cover from Clifford performance. i put a high volume oil pump on from Sealed power. Well that is the engine.

I put an 8 3/4 from my 70 duster and I bought an A904 an put a stall converter and transpak in from B & M.

Basically right now I am getting reading to reinstall the motor and tranny. :D

Welcome to the crowd.. these sixes are a blast. Looks as if you have already discovered how to set one of these up. Who needs a stinking 340, sell that to the anti-six bunch and invest the funds into your Duster project, you'll be glad you did...Dave
