I've been trying to get the slant to run at it's best. I set the timing and carb (carter bbs). While I was revving the engine with the air cleaner off, I noticed something coming out of the top of the carb when I gave it gas. I put my hand above the carb and I think it's gas spraying out. It's not a lot, but I could smell it on my hand. Anyone have any idea if this is normal or what the problem is ???
:? :?

I should also say that it is a fine mist. It looks like dust.

It is most likely fuel mist, reversion waves up the intake is common to most engines but in the case of a SL6 with a "short" cam, I would say that leaky valves are the cause.
Have you adjusted the valves lately?
