Hi all,

Can anyone give me some affordable recommendation for covering an A833 to floor shift? I had not thought about this until after I purchased the transmission. Gping into a rat rod.

Thanks,

Paul

I'm slightly confused. All A833s are floor shift.

I probably missed/don't understand something. I had thought there would be a stick pointing up out of the housing. Looking at the side panel, I thought there was some way you shifted from the column and that was transferred down into the transmission.

No, an A833 is a four forward gear, and one reverse gear trans. There's no way that it could be shifted from the column, as there's only four positions available in a column shifter.
Can you post a pic of the side cover?

Many people seem to miss the articles section of the board. The 1st article is about 4-speeds. It's good reading. http://www.slantsix.org/articles/4-spee ... speed1.htm

Thanks guys,

I'll try and get a photo published soon. I had a very four year old's "stick comes out the top of the transmission" idea of what this was supposed to look like.

The 833 does not have a shift tower like late model transmissions. It requires a bolt-on shifter .

Got you, now I just need to find that. Hopefully for less than the ~$600 I have seen online.
