Ok, I have read up on what you guys said to do, and I have two new problems. One, where do I get a Pertronix Conversion for my slant 6 225? The second is, where do I get a 4 bbl carb that I can change for my stock carb? Websites would be great. Thank you guys so much for your help!

John, slant 6 225

John, unless you plan on doing a bunch of other modifications (i.e. cam, exhaust work at the very least), I'd recommend you don't get any more drastic than a 2bbl factory super six setup. You can bolt a four barrel on your otherwise stock engine, but I betcha it'll run like crap. Check out the great info in the articles section (yeah, it took me a while to notice they were here, too  ) Pay particular attention to the super six bit.

P. S. - You must be a real masochist wanting to do that manifold job again so soon!

John, might I suggest, you register on the site, and log in. That way you will not show up as "guest".

A lot of the mail-order places carry the Pertronix. Summit and J.C. Whitney come to mind. Your local speed shop could probably also order one for you.

I was able to score a Pertronix Stage I and a hi-po coil from a guy on Ebay for less than $100. There's a shop that sells Petronix and even if they aren't posting any for the /6 they can order it for you. Sorry I forget the name.

Good luck,

Joe

On the note of running a 4 barrel on a stock engine - I tried running a holley 8007 (390cfm vacuum secondaries) on my motor (stock, other then clifford manifold and dual shorty headers with single 2 1/4" pipe to the back). Out of the box, I couldn't get it to run right. I spent a bit of time fiddling, but to no avail. My next step was to tear into it and replace the jets etc to what was recommended, but I decided to take a different route all together.
