I've got a 60 block and head out of a Dart. I've been led to believe that there are enough differences between the 60 and later blocks that they aren't worth putting money/time into. The thing is absolutely worn out but it did run decently before removing.

Anyone have some details on the differences? I can tell that there are additional threaded plugs that can be removed from the block, and rear of the head too which aren't present on all of the others I've seen.

Thanks in advance.

The head has the markings near the center intake flange, could be a Star or a Number plate of some sort. Also no boss for the alternator mount bolt right near the valve cover. I don't know much about the block.

The two issues I have seen are:
- No boss or threaded hole in the front of the head that is used to mount the right side alternator fan belt "slotted" adjuster bracket.
- The back of the early crank may not be finished machined for both the automatic torque converter pilot hub support or for the pilot bushing hole, for manual transmission use.
Look at your engine closely to confirm these features, before attempting a swap.

I've heard somewhere that the cam bearings are a different size as well? I'm just trying to determine whether it's worth trying to refresh for use in a stock type application.

I hadn't thought about the alternator mount on the head being an issue, so I'd need to find a driver side alternator mount if I were to use this head. I'll take some photos of it and post them up. It's a weird looking thing given the additional threaded plugs in places.

Thanks
