Hey yall, been a good while since I've been on, so me and dad just gave up on looking for a nitrophyl float for the 1904, heard yall the last time say a good replacement is a Carter bbs 2bbl, but I was on the computer and found a 1 barrel version of the 2 bbl made by carter, I have some questions to ask about the 2 carbs, so can a 2bbl carter go on a stock 225 without having to put a bigger cam and bigger valves on it ?(I know itll need 2bbl intake ), and for the 1 bbl, does it have a brass float in it and can It just bolt on to a 1bbl stock manifold just fine? Now another question I'm needing to ask is can any 1bbl carter fit on? Like say from a car that was a stick to a automatic transmisson?(if you guys need to know what type if tranny is in it, it's a 904) and the 1bbl carter is called a bbd I believe . But were worried if we get one that's says for example, it fits for a 1961 through 1966 225 slant 6 if it wont work, just wanting to ask because you'll be surprised about stuff like that, even how unchanged the slant 6 design is basically. Has anybody swapped their 1904 on here? Need help pinpointing the right carburetor for it. Thanks everybody and have a happy new year |

Start your research here: http://www.slantsix.org/articles/supersix/article.htm I wrote that article 16 years ago (my, time flies) and your options have changed. Some better parts have come on the market, some formerly easy to find parts are now very hard to find. I recommend going for a lokar-style cable kickdown linkage and, frankly, these days it is almost easier and cheaper to get a four barrel carb and disable the secondaries than to get a decent condition Carter BBD or Holley 2280 two barrel carb. $30 kickdown cable assembly |

I'm not "doc". "Doc" is "Doctor Dodge", or "Doug Dutra." Dude, you're making me feel old. |

Best carbs 1) Autolite 2100 with 1.08 Venturi's 2) Holley 350 3) Edelbrock 500 AVS. These will require a different manifold. I would suggest an Offehuaser 4v available new from Summit. You will need to make an adaptor. All other carbs are basically worthless. Reed's article is a good starting point and his suggestions for linkage is right on. |

kesteb-1) Autolite 2100 with 1.08 Venturi's Does the Autolite 2100 have a ported vacuum source for the distributor? I looked into this a few years back and never found an answer. |

The versions used by AMC do. I prefer the one used on the 304 v8. |

+1 for the 2100. The 2100/4100 carburetors are among the best ever designed in my opinion. You can pull the top off of it with it running. I have a 4100 on the shelf that ran nice on my stock-ish engine and it is a 1.12. Smooth idle, no bogs. |
