I have a few rocker adjustment screws that turn too easy, and may not be holding their set. Is there a way to tighten them up, or should I locate four good used rockers? |

You can put jam nuts on them, or find other ones. Are you using stock pushrods with milled head or block? If not enough thread engagement, the screws will back out on their own. Shorter pushrods can fix this. Lou |

Some of the screws rotate rather easily threaded their full length, and a few maybe bottomed out, I haven't looked at them since last summer. Yup, stock push rods, and milled head & block. Probably will need shorter push rods, as planing to install factory steel head gasket to make up for engine builder not telling me he bored out from .030" to 0.40"in time to correct for compression drop. I should have 10.1:1, and with Fel-Pro head gasket I have 9.6:1. Factory gasket is thin enough to correct compression drop. Where would one source non stock length push rods? And, how would I determine corrected length to have push rods made? |

Smith Bros I think is the go-to place for nice custom pushrods. I usually eyeball mine to see how much adjuster thread I have when adjusted properly, then subtract 0.100-0.200" from stock pushrod length. I guess I have used a ruler a few times. Stock is around 9.98", IIRC?? Lou |

I've got a couple new rocker arms sitting around - found somebody selling a partial lot of NOS aftermarket replacements that look like they were from the 1960s. Let me know if you need any. |

When you order push rods from Smith Brothers, order a set of longer adjusters with jam nuts. Then you can lock them down and not worry about them coming loose. |
