I RandR Plugs, cap, rotor, condensor, wires, coil and removed the 1 bbl carb. I sprayed the intake carb hole with ether and it tried to start. Yippy!!! Carb shaft is so worn and I here ya'll stories about Reman carbs so I bought a '79 Aspen today. This aspen will donate a hood and grill for my '79 Volare with 27k actual miles. However, this Aspen will donate its "Super 6" setup for this '61 Dodge. I have my fingers crossed about the carb on the Aspen. The Aspen has a 100k miles.

That's a neat car! My grandfather had a Seneca back in the day. He drove it until the battery rusted through the tray and the suspension rotted off. A Super Six ought to put a little bit more motivation into it.

agree, today a '61 Seneca is a cool car,,,,

however, think for a moment, and set your self in 1961 as a new Car Salesman, with a wife, a kid, maybe a mortgage,, and you needed to sell those to get a paycheck,,

The slant 6 was dominating the race scenes and if you anted up and checked the box you could take your share of wins at the drag strip with a cross ram and pull your car with one of the most unique wagons Dodge ever made. A good salesman can sell ice to an Eskimo.

When I was a young lad my Father had a 1960 Dodge Seneca with the 225 and a three speed manual. Good car, he killed it like all the rest he had but I helped cause I was 16-17 and drove just like you would expect. Found out it would do 98 MPH. Good luck with yours . Comfortable car.

I pulled the rocker arm assy. and have it soaking. I found out today while scraping the pounds of mud to
find the engine and trans. and I discovered the motor had been swapped out for a rebuild in '74-'75. 10/10 with 30 over. The farmer never heard of a car wash. lol 1 rocker foot needs a little grind or are most people replacing the rocker??? The oil pump wasn't even visible. Should I remove and clean it or just take out the relief valve??? Which hole should I force air through to clean valve trane oil passages in the head???
